Dutch “Gala van de Popmuziek” 2010

Tonight (26th of May) is the night that Musicians, programmers, bookers, managers and other music professionals attend the Gala of the 2010 pop music where the main professional price for pop music in the Netherlands are presented. I am very excited to be present as a photographer for the MusicMaker Magazine.

The best musicians will receive a Devil (dutch: Duiveltje). This prize is awarded through voting amongst their colleagues. The VNPF decide who the winner of the best venues and festivals are. They will receive a “Iron Stage Animal” (IJzeren Podiumdier). The best managers in the pop music will receive a Music Managers Award.

The Devils are awarded annually since 2003 by MCN (former “National Pop Institute”) to the best rock musicians of the Netherlands, elected by their fellow musicians. Since 2009, the Iron Performing Animals and Devils are awarded at this special event.

The Iron Podium Animals are awarded annually since 1997 by the VNPF in the categories best director, best programmer, best platform and best festival. An independent jury of professionals from different branches of the live circuit elects a winner per catagory .

The Music Managers Awards are awarded since 2006 by the MMF, this year for the first time during the Gala of Pop.
